Returning to a past love!!!

Ruffle scarf

I remember when my mom taught me how to crochet and when I learned more in Merry Miss... (Wow, that was a while ago...) : ) So, I came across some fun patterns and have come to really love crocheting again! Here are a few of the the things I decided to try:

PS: www.lionbrand.com is a great place to get free patterns in knit or crochet as well as freepatterns.com

Sledding in the backyard

The kids couldn't wait to get out last week. It was one of Hugh's first times out in the snow. We haven't been able to find small enough snow boots, so he had to wear Ana's old ones. They were huge! He kept tripping over them, but he didn't let that stop him from throwing snow balls and swinging on the swing set, etc... We covered his knit mittens with sandwich baggies and rubber bands so they would stay dry. Diann reminded me about that trick! (Thanks Diann!) It was fun to see how happy he was to actually be out in it as I have kept him out of it for the last few months.

Our Park City Weekend

The Cabriolet at the Canyons
Eric, Nicholas, Julia and our good friends, the Duttons, took this up to the resort for a day of skiing, while my friend, and her little guy and me and the 2 youngest kiddies stayed back at the condo. Let's just say it started out raining and by the time the kids were done at 4pm, their clothes inside and out were dripping all over the floor. They had to head out to the hot tub. I thought it a bit ironic to be running out of the condo into cold, snowy weather in a swimsuit and cover up. The funny thing is that once we got out of the hot tub, we reached for our towels only to find them dripping from the drizzling wet snow. Oh, well... I wish I would have taken a picture.
It was a fun weekend in Park City. We realized we haven't really taken advantage of that place as a vacation spot and vow to check it out more often.

On the way home...

The bobsled track at Olympic Park.

My cute kids!

Hugh absolutely loves being pushed in the doll stroller. He gets very protective of the strollers when the girls put their Carebears in it instead of him. : ) He's so funny!

Julia... what a sweetie!

Ana in her golden crown. She found it in the craft box and wore it around for weeks. She even found one for Hugh! I love that my kids love dressing up! It really is magical to be in a dream world!

Snow...

Eric took these pictures one night. He was admiring the soft glow of our landscape lights. And of course the kids were in on it too...

Miss Ana Ballerina!

Ana is proudly wearing the tutu Aunt Diann made. Aunt Diann makes and sells them in her store http://www.simplychicgirlyboutique.blogspot.com. When Ana saw this one at Aunt Diann's, she said, "we could buy it, mom." She's such a smart girl! And a beautiful ballerina! ; )

Christmas at home

2008 Christmas in St George!

2008 was the "on" year for the Young family. We packed our bags and headed out to "Sunny" St. George, however, when we arrived, we found it to be sunny and not warm at all... We all had a great time hanging out. The kids absolutely loved being with their cousins! It was a nice trip. We all slept well and had a great time. I think some of our favorite moments were when Isaac broke out his kareoke mics and everyone, including the kids had a blast belting out songs. I love it when we don't take music so seriously. It really is a lot of fun! Here are a videos and photos of our week. Note to Mom & Dad: the videos are really for you. We thought you'd like to see a little of what we did... : )

Meghan's Wedding Cape

During December, our niece, Meghan Tracy was married in the Mt Timpanogos Temple. She graciously let me make a warm wedding cape for her: soft minky fabric on the inside with a beautiful satin on the outside. My girls wished it was for them. Meghan look lovely on her wintery, snowy wedding day. She even wore boots under her dress! She certainly was prepared!
"Someday, my prince will come..." Can anyone guess what Disney movie that's from? : )

Neighbor Gifts

Who doesn't love getting neighbor gifts? We certainly looove them. This was yummy bread and freezer jam that was perfect for picture taking!

Hugh in a favorite place...

December 14, 2008 -
Hugh rather enjoys playing in the cupboards. If it's not the blender, it's the Tupperware. If it's not the Crock pot, it's the silverware. If it's not the pots and pans, it's the pantry... The list goes on for the curious life of a 15 month old. We had to take a picture of him in his cute apron that Grandma Young made forever ago for us kids and of course his stylish Babyleg armwarmers. To tell you the truth, I 'm not sure what happened in the picture below... maybe I took away the blender because of the sharp blades... He likes to put his hand inside it...Yikes!

Nothing like a brother and a sister

Dec. 12, 2008 - I came in one afternoon and found Ana rocking Hugh in the front room. They were quietly jabbering and I thought it was nice they were getting along. Ana has been a tease lately...

So, I
