Simple Finds

Check out this site: http://www.simple-finds.com/2009/04/sew-simple.html

They have such great giveaways!

Baking Bread

Yeah, I know it's not something sweet, but I just had to try out this new bread recipe with liquid lecithin. They look so yummy and only took 1hr start to cutting & eating my first piece. Yum! Anyone can make this!

Chocolate Lollipop Fabric

I loooooove this fabric! Too bad it's last year's stock and really hard to find. But don't you just love it too! Free Spirit fabrics by Anna Maria Horner in her Chocolate Lollipop line. So, fun!! I'm making a baby sling for my sister out of it. I'll post pics as soon as I finish!

Refinished Furniture

I finally finished this dresser. It was an old dresser from the 1960's or 70's... It had great bones, but very dated finishes and style. So, Eric helped me add height to the top and crown molding, then I added the bead board and trim pieces to the sides and replaced the legs. We also changed out the knobs, painted the whole thing a nice white with General Finishes Milk Paint and sealed it with General Finishes waterbased polycrylic. It turned out so great! The girls seem to like it, which it a plus!

Then after that I finished the top of our kitchen table in burnt umber! Yea!! Lots of fun and glad it's done!! Next up for refinishing is an old brass bed with pretty hand painted finials. Give me a few weeks though as the weather really needs to cooperate, no rain... : )

More Spring Break photos

Diann has a parakeet named Charlie and Hugh was absolutely fascinated by him. I caught him with a water bottle spraying the cage with water. He loves animals and I often find him wandering across the street to the neighbor's house to see their dog, Jetta.

Spring Break!

Finally school's out and what do we get? Well see for yourself... It only delayed our St George trip one day, but wow!!

And then we were off to Sunny St George! We had a lot of fun and it was so nice to get away from school and the cold! We attended the kite festival, but it was so hot, we forgot to take pictures. The heat was a little bit of a shock to our systems. We even got sunburned, not that that is a good thing, mind you. But just one of those things where you have to get reacquainted with summer! So, fun! And we even get to go back next week for 2 baby blessings: Eli's and Tanner's, Diann's baby, and Isaac's baby, respectively. Here is their cute little baby shower invite.
